What better place to be than at the intimate setting of a private concert on a lazy Sunday afternoon, equipped with a baby grand piano and upright bass, accompanying the seducing vocals of award-winning recording artist Kaylene Peoples. This is an INVITATION ONLY event at an undisclosed, private residence in Los Angeles. The complete address will be given only after you purchase your ticket. Kaylene features the legendary Bunny Brunel on the Upright Bass and the brilliant Mahesh Balasooriya on Acoustic Piano. We will also be joined by Joe Calderon (GTR) and Bryan Cabrera (Drums)
There will be food and drink available (Cash Donation). All guests will receive 1 free glass of sangria. We hope to see you there!
About the Trio
A former runway model and former Miss California, Kaylene Peoples Is a jazz powerhouse. With a 5-octave range and dreamy, powerful vocals. As an accomplished flutist, Peoples’s adds her own unique flavor to her performances. Kaylene is an LA Music Awards winner producer, her award-winning album MY MAN is a jazz marvel. And “Giant Steps” from that album, featuring Hubert Laws won an award for “Best Jazz Song.” And her single, “Do You Remember?,” from the album ALL JAZZED UP! topped the Independent charts. Kaylene has performed with Jeff Goldblum, John Beasley, Bobby Lyle, Larry Dunn (EWF), Patrice Rushen, just to name a few.
Artist/Bassist/Music Director Bunny Brunel was nominated for 2 Grammys here in the US, as well as being the MD and bassist for Michel Polnaref’s performance with 1 million in attendance at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. That performance won the Victoire la Musique for “Best Live Show” (Grammy equivalent). Brunel has released 15 albums in his career and has toured all over the world as both a bassist and music director, he is also the founder of the power fusion, Grammy-nominated band CAB. Bunny Brunel was in Chick Corea’s band for 9 years, performed with Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Wayne Shorter, Stevie Wonder, Tania Maria, and way too many to mention.
Pianist Mahesh Balasooriya hailed from Sri Lanka and has been blowing the minds of audiences when he tickles those ivories. When listening to him play jazz, Oscar Peterson comes to mind. Though proficient in all styles, he is a shining star with his amazing jazz prowess. Mahesh has a Grammy-equivalent from Sri Lanka and has performed with Stanley Clarke, Natalie Cole, and others!
